job description
Ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of experience in production of construction documents. The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Architecture. The candidate must have at least 3 years of Revit experience. The Technical Designer is primarily responsible for the technical and document production aspects for projects of all sizes- from a one room renovation to a new building. Responsible for turning conceptual designs from senior designers and firm leadership, and develop detailed drawings to achieve the design intent. Ensuring accuracy and code compliance.

Leads in-house junior designers through development of design and construction documentation process.
Develops and coordinates with consultants to produce construction documents.
Oversees code compliance with applicable codes, standards and guidelines.
Develops and coordinates technical specifications. Coordinates with Project Manager, Construction Manager, Client, and/or government agency relative to front end specification documents.
Adheres to and implements firm documentation procedures and standards as they best apply.
Provide quality control for construction documents.
Will likely supervise small junior designer staff.
Work closely with senior project architects to develop details to ensure accuracy in achieving the design intent.

This position includes a combination of office-based work and periodic visits to active project sites. Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, construction activity, and elevated noise levels, as well as navigating ladders or scaffolding. Occasional lifting or carrying of materials (up to 40 lbs.) may be required, and appropriate safety equipment must be worn when on-site. Reliable transportation is required, as travel to project sites is an essential part of the role. A background check is required.
