School of medicine
Commack High School is taking a bold step forward in preparing its students for the future of healthcare with this state-of-the-art lab in the School of Medicine, the newest addition to the district’s eight Schools of Study.
At the heart of this lab will be Anatomage Tables- advanced 3D virtual dissection platforms that bring human anatomy to life with unparalleled accuracy. These cutting-edge tools will allow students to explore the human body in ways once reserved for higher education and professional training. From studying organs and skeletal structures to simulating medical procedures, the technology transforms abstract learning into hands-on experience.
The design of the lab emphasizes flexibility and innovation. Open work areas and collaborative zones encourage students to learn side by side, mirroring the teamwork essential in healthcare environments. Carefully integrated technology supports both independent study and guided instruction, giving educators the ability to tailor lessons to different learning styles.
More than a classroom, this lab is a gateway. It paves the way for students to pursue higher education in medicine, nursing, biomedical sciences, and allied health professions. By engaging with tools used in universities and hospitals, students gain confidence, skills, and a deeper understanding of the opportunities ahead.
Aligned with the district’s vision, the School of Medicine program gives students the opportunity to prepare for college, explore their interests, and begin building a path toward future careers in medicine, nursing, and the health sciences.
